"August 2002 examination results"
Brickfields Asia College students, Ms Ang Ley Hoon & Mr. Tan Chee Yuen topped the results by securing the only two 2nd class upper passes awarded in the August 2002 examinations also 70% of all full passes awarded nationwide was secured by Brickfields Asia College students.
"July 2001 examination results"
Brickfields students secured 9 out of the 12 top performances (2nd lowers) awarded and Brickfields Asia College students were the only Book Prize winners at the July 2001 examination.

Teaching Faculty
"Best Team of Lecturers"
Brickfields Asia College has the best team of lecturers for the CLP examinations. As students have to pass all the 5 subjects, the College has ensured that there are good lecturers for all the 5 subjects. All lecturers are experienced having taught the CLP for years and are synonymous with the CLP. Owing to the rules governing the legal profession, the College does not publish the names of its lecturers in this brochure. However, details of the teaching staff are available.

Heading the team of lecturers is Raja Singham, the founder and Chief Executive Officer of Brickfields Asia College. He lectures Evidence, General Paper and Land Law for the Professional Practice Paper. Over the years, he has produced thousands of CLP graduates and has given lectures to Judges, Magistrates and prosecuting officers on the Law of Evidence.
A top student at the CLP, his other areas of interest is Information Technology . In 1996, Corporate World named him as one of Malaysia's IT Whiz kids. He was also the youngest of 6 finalists for the Chivas Regal Achievement Unlimited Award and the youngest of 40 Malaysians featured by the Malaysian Editor's special edition to commemorate the nation's 40 years of independence. He is listed in Baron's Who's Who among 3500 outstanding individuals in Asia.

Brickfields Asia College offers the most successful distance learning programme for the CLP examination. The programme offers students very comprehensive materials and tutor support. The programme caters for those unable to attend classes on a regular basis or not at all. Course Subjects
The CLP Course comprises 5 compulsory subjects, which are Professional Practice. General Paper, Law of Evidence, Criminal Procedure and Civil Procedure. The syllabus is set out in our full information and registration kit which is available upon request and it can be downloaded from our website.

Registration and Payment of Fees
The College is open for Registration throughout the year. Admission on the Programme is on a first-come-first served basis and students are advised to register early. Outstation students may register by completing the Registration Form provided with this Prospectus and sending it to the address in the form accompanied by the necessary payment.

"All Materials and Statutes Provided"
This year sees the launch of the new edition (2008/2009 Edition) of the Complete Guide Series, the most comprehensive material produced for the CLP Programme. The Complete Guide Series covers everything that a CLP candidate will need in preparation for the examination. Each Complete Guide comprises a Study Guide, a Revision Guide, Past Years Questions Book, and an Update. The Guides are available for all 5 subjects.

Students will be provided the 5 main statutes namely the Rules of the High Court 1980, the Subordinate Court Rules 1980, the Evidence Act 1950, the Criminal Procedure Code (FMS Cap 6), and the National Land Code.

Resource Centre
"Legal Reference Centre"
The Brickfields Research and Resource Centre is a very complete and comprehensive Resource Centre housing all the reading and reference material that a CLP student will need.
The Centre operates on an open shelf system to ensure easy access to study and research material. The Complete Guide Series and the lectures are so comprehensive that you may find it unnecessary to use the Resource Centre for the CLP examinations. However, students are encouraged to use the Resource Centre to develop research skills which will be useful in practice.

CLP Examinations
The CLP examination is conducted every year in the month of July. Students will have to sit for a three hour examination for each of the subjects. An additional 15 minutes is allowed for the student to read the questions.
There are 5 compulsory papers and the student must pass all five papers in one sitting. If he fails more than one subject, he will have to retake all five subjects in July or August the following year unless the candidate has failed badly, (a total of less than 100 marks for the 5 subjects) in which case the candidate will be barred from the next sitting. However if the candidates fails only one paper, he only has to re-sit that paper on a date specified by the Board. Students who successfully complete the examination will be entitled to use the designatory letters CLP.
